Erika V. Asten

Erika V. Asten (1928–2018) had been a music teacher in Berlin with a PhD in Musicology, and a public broadcaster for ten years before moving to Detroit, where she became a Waldorf school teacher. In 1968, she joined the Anthroposophical Society and became a member of the School for Spiritual Science, a class holder, and a member of the Social Sciences Section. She married Dietrich Astan, who was General Secretary of the Anthroposophical Society in America from 1962 to 1974. Erika was well known for her love of spiritual Science and her generosity in the anthroposophic movement. In her final years, she was a resident of Camphill Kimberton in Pennsylvania.
