Through soft and warm illustrations, and without words, Sarah Laidlaw tells the story of the year—from planting the garden in spring and a summer's day spent at the beach, to playing in the autumn leaves and decorating the Christmas tree together.
This chunky board book is a celebration of nature, seasonal change, and family togetherness throughout the year. Children and parents can imagine their own story or simply enjoy spotting characters and details in the beautiful pictures.
(Ages 1 to 3 years)
“Sarah Laidlaw's soft, smudgy-edged style creates a warm, dreamy feel...familiar scenes are easy for young children to relate to, and the book offers a simple way to affirm and celebrate the changing seasons together.”
— Armadillo
“I cannot recommend highly enough the gentle glowing and detailed illustrations which are a feast for the senses. [Through the Seasons is] of course, very robust and ideal for early childhood settings!”
— Kindling
